Itinerary

8:00 AM – Depart from Dong Ha City Hotel: Your journey begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Dong Ha, and we’ll set out for a full-day exploration of these iconic historical landmarks.

Morning Activities:

Ben Hai River & Hien Luong Bridge

Start your tour with a visit to the Ben Hai River, which marked the division between North and South Vietnam during the war. At Hien Luong Bridge, we’ll discuss its symbolism and the heartbreaking separation of families during the conflict.

Vinh Moc Tunnels

Explore the Vinh Moc Tunnels, where civilians lived underground to escape the relentless bombing. This complex system of tunnels provided refuge for families during the war. Learn how the tunnels represented hope and survival in the face of unimaginable adversity.

12:00 PM – 1:00 PM – Lunch at a Local Restaurant

After your morning adventures, enjoy a delicious traditional lunch at a local restaurant. We offer vegetarian options, and if you have specific dietary needs, let us know in advance.

Afternoon Activities:

Quang Tri Citadel: A Memorial to the Fallen Heroes

In the afternoon, visit the Quang Tri Citadel, a site of immense historical significance. This citadel became the heart of one of the longest and fiercest battles of the Vietnam War, the 81-day-and-night struggle that left the town in ruins.

Today, it serves as a memorial to the soldiers who fought and died here. You’ll hear poignant stories of courage and sacrifice, and visit the memorials and mass graves where many of the fallen soldiers were buried.

The citadel stands as a testament to the endurance and sacrifices made during the war, and it is an emotional and powerful site to reflect on the past.

Optional: La Vang Holy Land (if time permits)

If time allows, we’ll visit the La Vang Holy Land, a significant religious site for Vietnamese Catholics. The sanctuary, surrounded by lush forests and mountains, holds deep spiritual meaning for those who have come here for solace and reflection, particularly during the hardships of the war.

5:00 PM – Return to Dong Ha City Hotel:

After a deeply moving day exploring these historic sites, we will return to your hotel in Dong Ha, where you can reflect on the powerful stories and experiences you’ve encountered throughout the day.
