Start your day with a pick-up from your hotel in Dong Ha, and prepare for a profound journey into Quang Tri’s most significant historical sites.

Morning Activities:

Khe Sanh Combat Base

Your first stop is the Khe Sanh Combat Base, a key site in the Vietnam War, where fierce clashes occurred between the U.S. military and North Vietnamese forces. Learn about the strategic importance of the base and the harsh conditions that soldiers endured during the infamous 1968 siege. The remnants of the base, now a historical site, offer a glimpse into the intensity of the fighting.

Truong Son Cemetery

Next, visit Truong Son Cemetery, a solemn and moving site that serves as the final resting place for more than 10,000 soldiers who lost their lives along the Ho Chi Minh Trail. Afternoon Activities:

Quang Tri Citadel: A Monument to Courage and Sacrifice

In the afternoon, we head to the historic Quang Tri Citadel. This site is infamous for the 81-day-and-night battle, one of the most harrowing and decisive conflicts of the Vietnam War. Today, the citadel stands as a memorial to the soldiers who gave their lives to protect the country.

Visitors will learn about the fierce fighting during the summer of 1972, also known as the “Red-Fire Summer,” and witness the transformation of the citadel into a mass burial site for fallen heroes. The site offers an emotional experience and serves as a reminder of the high cost of war.

Optional Visit: La Vang Holy Land (if time permits)

If time allows, we will visit La Vang Holy Land, a revered Catholic pilgrimage site. Surrounded by lush forests and mountains, the sanctuary offers a peaceful contrast to the somber history of the war and serves as a spiritual refuge for many.

5:00 PM – Return to Dong Ha City Hotel:

After a day of reflection and exploration, we will return to your hotel in Dong Ha, where you can contemplate the stories and experiences shared throughout the day.
